Equine Sculpture by Mel Miller

Jasmine

In Progress Molly Mule, Traditional Scale

Again, the sculpture was left to sit for several months to allow work to continue with a fresh eye. Comments from critiques have been taken into consideration, and several things have been reworked. In these pictures, the hind end up to behind the shoulders has been tweaked, and the changes will continue on up the rest of her body in another session. As you can see, there are many strange looking stages a sculpture has to go through before detailing can even be considered! In this case, the front end does not appear to match up with the back end, and there are some stiffness issues. Once the front end is "done", more critiques will be sought to further help refine and perfect the piece, and then, hopefully finishing!

Following more critiques, Jasmine has been finished. You can see her here!
